He was a 1972 graduate of Eastbrook High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force and furthered his education as a journeyman in plumbing and heating. He enjoyed collecting antiques, woodworking and was a history and military enthusiast.

He was a millwright and a member of the Local 1029.

Survivors include daughters Katey (Gerry) Rice, Gas City, Kayla Todd, Jonesboro and Sara O'Brien, Whiteland; a son, Clayton Todd, Mount Sterling, Ky.; sisters, Terri (Dave) Livingston, New Palestine, Sue (Roy) Arnold, Muncie, and Rose (Robert) Lambert, Chino Valley, Ariz.; and granddaughters Jessianna, Alivia and Megan.
