Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 6, at the United Methodist Church in Ruthven, with Rev. Ray Stauffer officiating
Casket Bearers will be Michael Busse, Troy Busse, Laef Lundbeck, Bruce Bruns, Craig Busse, Kevin S. Heets and Chris Busse
Burial will be at North Lawn Cemetery, Spencer
Martin Mattice Funeral Home in Ruthven is in charge of arrangements
Visitation will be held after 2 p.m., today with the family present at the funeral home after 6 p.m.
James Albert Handy, the son of Samuel C. and Alta M. (Diggs) Handy, was born October 17, 1909 in Madison County near Winterset. He received his education at a country school near Winterset
On April 5, 1934, Mr. Handy married Evelyn Simpson in Spencer. The couple farmed for 30 years near Spencer, Royal and Ruthven.
Mr. Handy was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ruthven
He was p[recede in death by his parents; sisters, Edith Kephart, Alma Perkins and Elsie Straup; brothers; Frank, John and Charles Handy; two grandchildren; Rodney Koenig and Bradley Bruns
Mr. Handy is survived by his wife, Evelyn; five children and their spouse; Annabelle and Bob Busse of Laurens, Alta and Gordon Bruns of Spencer, James and Darlene Handy of Ruthven, Melva and Dennis Koenig of Ruthton, Minnesota and Mary and Orlin Lundbeck of Royal; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Cora Lockey of Spencer; sister in law Agnes Handy
