Mrs Miller was born in York County, SC on March 9, 1901, the daughter of Stephen Pettus Blankenship and emma Faires Blankenship. After graduating from Winthrop College in 1922, she taught school in Pineville. She married James Ross Miller in 1924. She was a member of the Gen. James Lane Chapter of the UDC, the Gen. Robert Irwin Chapter of the DAR, a former member of the Charlotte Writer's Club, and the Fortnightly Book Club.
Survivors include two sons, one daughter , six chandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
