Mrs. Richmond was born Sept. 21, 1910, at Glen Morgan, prior to her family moving to Blue Jay, where she spent her childhood. She was the daughter of the late Elijah and Annie Webb.
Mrs. Richmond was a graduate of Shady Spring High School, Beckley Business College and Pinecrest School of Nursing. After working at Pinecrest Hospital, she made the choice to stay in the home and raise a family. She was also active in the Democratic Party for many years. She was the oldest member of Daniels Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member since its inception.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Hobert R. Richmond; sister, Edna V. Claytor; brother, Glen Webb; and grandson, Mark V. Lowery.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Jo Ransom and husband, Jim, of Daniels, Jeanette Lowery and husband, Bob, of Beckley; son, Ray and wife, Bobbie, of Daniels; grandchildren, James Lee Ransom of Bridgeport, Steven Ransom and wife, Sharon, of Beckley, Katy Ransom of Beckley, Matt Lowery of Beckley, Marisa Lowery of Spring Lake, N.C., Maris Lowery of Beckley, Matt Lowery of Beckley, Myron Lowery and wife, Dawn, of Fort Mill, N.C., Mario Lowery and wife, Adair, of Morganton, N.C., Robert Richmond and wife, Michelle, of Lake Placid, Fla., Michael Richmond and wife, Lori, of Beckley and Dr. J. David Richmond of Boston, Mass.; great-grandchildren, Andrea Nixon, Jessica Casteen, Steven James Ransom, Jevon Ransom, Zanna Lowery, Ella Lowery, Sallie McCury, Caroline Richmond, Madeline Richmond, Alexandra Richmond, Creek Richmond and Hailey Renee Richmond; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Service will be 1 p.m. today at Daniels Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jack Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
