Sudie Akin Vaughn, 99, of Buffalo, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
She was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church in Green County and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jacob Wesley Akin and William Showdy Vaughn; a son, James Wesley Akin; a great-grandson, Benjamin Keith Pepper; four sisters, Ora Walker, Nora Quesenberry, Allie Brooks and Lura Goff; and three brothers, Kessler Vaughn, Willie Vaughn and Marvin Vaughn.
Survivors include a granddaughter and her husband, Anna Jo Pepper and the Rev. Roger Pepper, both of Hodgenville; a grandson and his wife, Dr. James Wesley Akin Jr. and Melissa Akin, both of Lexington; and four great-grandchildren, Kristy Pepper, Alex Akin, Will Akin and Alison Akin, all of Lexington.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Eastern time Thursday at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with the Rev. Darrell Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
