Kerry Curtis Murphy, 62, of Kings Mountain, passed away Monday, July 2, 2007 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. Kerry was born Sunday, March 11, 1945 to the late Mike C. and Helene Mae Sears Murphy in Cincinnati, OH.
Kerry was united in marriage on January 30, 1964 to Beverly Reynolds. To this union were born three sons, Michael Kerry (Molly) Murphy of Zionsville, Patrick Curtis (Julie) Murphy of Aurora and Bryon Kelly (Jennifer) Murphy of Huntington. There are six grandchildren, Rachel, Alli-son, Delaney, Devin, Anna and Luke Murphy.
Kerry worked at Equitable Bag Company in Florence, KY for 21 years, Mashusita in Danville for 4 1/2 years, Oakwood Communities in Somerset for 5 years and lastly worked at Lincoln County Schools retiring June 1 of this year.
Kerry attended Memorial High School playing basket-ball and baseball and then passed his passion on to his sons. During his career he coached Little League and junior and senior baseball at Milan High School. Kerry was an avid outdoors-man, a UK fan and a member of Kings Mountain Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 6 at the Chapel of Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home in Waynesburg with Rev. Don Scilley officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Point Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Lincoln County Athletic Fund, 60 Education Way, Stanford, KY 40484.
