Thomas Baker was born on 13 September 1636 in Norwich, Norfolk, England. He was the son of John and Elizabeth Baker. Thomas Baker was christened on 18 September 1636 at St Peter Mancroft, Norwich, Norfolk, England. He married Priscilla Appleton of Ipswich on 26 November 1672. President Calvin Coolidge, First Lady Jean Means Appleton (Mrs. Franklin Pierce), Fanny Appleton (Mrs. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow), and Thomas Appleton (Boston wit and arts patron) are descendants of Mr. Baker. He died in Topsfield on 18 March 1718.∼Thomas Baker was the son of John Baker 1598-1680 and Elizabeth 1612-1666. Thomas was born in Norwich,Norfolk, England on 18 Sept. 1598. On 26 Mar 1672 he married Priscilla Symonds in Hondel, Warwickshire, England. After moving to the United States they had 7 children:
Martha, Priscilla, Martha, Rebecka, Thomas, John, Elizabeth.
