SWEETSER-Theresa M. (Cain) Reece, 85, began her eternal life in heaven with her Lord at 3:15 a.m. Monday in her home.

She was born May 2, 1923, near Peru, Ind., to the late John and Edith Cain. She married Aaron Reece Jr. on May 10, 1942, and was married for 55 years.

Theresa and her late husband farmed the family homestead, which has remained in the family for more than 100 years, and they owned and operated Reece Egg Farm. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Marion Church of the Brethren.

Survivors include children Bonnie (David) Spittler, Montevallo, Ala., Greg (Colleen) Reece, Marion, Caroline (Charles) Martin, Sweetser; four grandchildren, Laura (Jay) Forbes, Natalie (Matthew) Smiley, Jennifer Talbott, and Erin Reece; three great-grandchildren, Eyler Smiley, Reece Talbott, and Jayla Forbes.

Theresa was preceded in death by brothers, Clarence Cain, John Cain, Kenneth Cain and Paul Cain; sisters, Olive Dice and Esther Bragg.

Funeral services are Friday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m. at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Home, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion. Burial will be at the Estates of Serenity Cemetery in Marion.
