In 1941, Mr. Kesner entered Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock where he earned his degree. During his 77 years of ministry, Bro. Kesner pastured 14 churches in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas, including Southside Baptist Church in Star City. Through the years he served as Registrar of the National Meeting and the National Advisory Board to the P.K (Preacher's Kids) Club of the A.B.A. He also served as Medical Director of the A.B.A National Youth Camps for several years. At one time Bro. Kesner founded and taught several Seminary Bible courses for young ministers and Local Christian Church workers in several states.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 ½ years; Irene Poynor Kesner, sister; Mary Bell Swearingen.
