Debora Marshall Jeffers
(January 6, 1959 - March 28, 2013)


Debora Gail Marshall Jeffers, 54, of Dogwalk Road, Afton, passed away Thursday morning (March 28, 2013) at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was a housewife and attended Union Free Will Baptist Church. She loved to dance.

Survivors include her husband: Terry Jeffers; five children and spouses: Amanda and Lucas Carter, Nathaniel Marshall, Daniel Marshall, Michael and Sherry Jeffers, Dustin and Marah Jeffers; five grandchildren: Amanda Carter, Maranda Carter, Lucas Carter, Jr., Bill Carter, and Levi Jeffers; one sister and brother-in-law: Tina and Bill Riggs; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Davie Swatzell, Jim and Jerrie Swatzell, and Mark and Diane Swatzell; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends; mother-in-law: Ruth Jeffers.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Guy and Shirley Laws Swatzell.

The family will receive friends from 3 – 7 p.m. on Sunday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Justin Swatzell and Josh Swatzell will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Monday to go in procession to Cross Anchor Cemetery for the 11 a.m. committal service.

Active pallbearers will be Chuck Swatzell, Josh Swatzell, Lee Wilson, Caleb Harbinson, Donnie Rader, Larry Hatley, and Terry Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Jeffers, Dustin Jeffers, and Brad McCarroll.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37601, or to the Alzheimers Association, PO Box 10088, Knoxville, TN 37939-9910.
