Shirley Neil Spradling, 87, of Port Orange, Florida, formerly of Charleston, WV, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the home of his daughter in Scottsdale, Arizona, after a short illness. Shirley was a retired foreman with Union Carbide Corporation at Institute, WV, being an electrician by trade and a member of the Daytona Beach Drive-In Christian Church and the West Virginia Club in Daytona. Shirley was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lee Spradling and a daughter, Barbara Susan Spradling.
He is survived by Ron and Linda Spradling of St. Albans, WV, Bonnie and Jim Wood of Scottsdale, Arizona, as well as four grandchildren, Tim Spradling and wife Dawn of Hurricane, WV, Brian Spradling and wife Heather of Clayton, NC, Michael Wood and wife Tracy of Phoenix, AZ and Barbara Susan Spradling Wood of Phoenix, AZ. Shirley is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Morgan and Matthew Spradling of Hurricane, WV and Davis and Carson Spradling of Clayton, NC.
Services will be 3:00pm Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home with a visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be at Elk Hills Memorial Park in Elkview.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Daytona Beach Drive-In Christian Church, P.O. Box 7175, Daytona Beach, Florida 32116.
