E. I. Aherron Funeral Rites Set Tomorrow


The funeral for Edward I. Aherron, 71, will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. from Townes Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Mr. Aherron died yesterday morning at his home on Rt. 58 East, Ringgold Rt. 1, after a brief illness.

He was a native of Ringgold, where he had lived most of his life and was born April 17, 1891, the son of the late Prophet I. Aherron and Mrs. Mary Ann Richardson Aherron.

Mr. Aherron was a carpenter and for 11 years had worked for Gough Lumber Co. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Goldie Prather Aherron of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Geneva Brown, Danville; and six sons, Curtis E. Aherron and Paul J. Aherron both of Danville; Donald A. Aherron and Dudley 0. Aherron both of Richmond; John D. Aherron, Ringgold, and James T. Aherron, student at Greenville, S. C.

Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Janie Barker, Lynchburg; his step-mother, Mrs. Mamie Aherron, Blanch, N. C., and five half-brothers and four half-sisters, Willie Aherron, Keeling; Hurley Aherron, Danville; Hugh Aherron and Jack Aherron, both of Ringgold, and Herman Aherron, Danville; Mrs. Hester Stump,Ring-gold; Mrs. Helen Wyatt, Blanch, N. C. and Mrs. Alice Teague and Mrs. Jenette Creasey, both of Danville; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The remains will rest at Townes Funeral Home and the family will be at the residence on Rt. 58 East.
