A memorial service was held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at Peacock Memorial Chapel, 401 Raton Ave., La Junta. Private family graveside service will follow at Valley View Cemetery, Crowley, Colorado.
Born December 2, 1940 in Yuba City, CA, to Arthur Gilbert and Elizabeth (Sanderson) La Montagne, Ann grew up in Sutter, CA.
Ann met Orville Lester "Larry" Bond of Crowley, while he was stationed at McClellan Air Force Base near Sacramento, CA. The two were united in marriage September 30, 1960 in Reno, Nevada.
The family lived a short time in Illinois and Rocky Ford before settling in Ordway in 1964.
Ann was a bookkeeper for Stark's Furniture in La Junta and Ordway Chrysler-Plymouth in Ordway, among others.
The family moved to La Junta for a short time in the early 1980s where she was employed by the City of La Junta.
The family returned to Ordway in 1984 where Ann worked as the office manager for Crowley County Nursing Center until her retirement in 2007.
Following the death of her husband in 2007, Ann was diagnosed with cancer. Not letting that slow her down, she continued to work part-time as the office manager at Country Manor in Ordway. In 2008, Ann moved to La Junta.
Ann enjoyed traveling, playing games and spending time with her family and friends.
She was active in the La Junta Senior Citizens Center. Ann will always be remembered as a strong, courageous, loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family and extended family.
