Seneca Castle: Mr. Wendell M. Gray age 85, died on Monday March 25, 2013 at Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic extended care unit.

Friends may call on Thursday March 28, from 4-7pm at the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main Street, Phelps. Funeral services will be held on Friday 10am at the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Lynn Spence officiating. Burial will be in Whitney Cemetery.

It is requested that memorial donations be made to the Clifton Springs Nursing Home Activities Fund, 2 Coulter Road, Clifton Springs, NY 14432.

He is survived by his children, Kevin (Susan) Gray of Seneca Castle, Lawrence Gray of Stanley, Kenneth (Lois) Gray of Cato, Thomas (Anita) Gray of Charlotte, NC, Theodore (Meredith) Gray of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Katherine Meyer of Geneva, Karen (Roy) Hardy of Phelps, Jeffrey Gray of Vestal, Laurie (Steven) Knapp of Macedon, James (Marie) Gray of Farmington, Jerald (Virginia) Gray of Henrietta. Many Grandchildren and great-grandchildren and extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Bird Gray and their son, Timothy Gray.

Seneca Castle - Mr. Wendell M. Gray age 85, died on Monday (March 25, 2013) at Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic extended care unit.
Friends may call on Thursday (March 28), from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main Street Phelps. Funeral services will be held on Friday (March 29) 10 a.m. at the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Lynn Spence officiating. Burial will be in Whitney Cemetery.
It is requested that memorial donations be made to the Clifton Springs Nursing Home Activities Fund 2 Coulter Road Clifton Springs, NY 14432.
Mr. Gray was born on November 20, 1927 in Warren Penn. the son of the late Ralph and Grace Genevieve Porter Gray. He was an Army veteran. He retired from the Laborers Local 103 (Rochester Laborers) and from Upstate New York Operating Engineers. Mr. Gray was a great care giver, caring for his wife of 51 years.
Mr. Gray enjoyed working outdoors, gardening and working on cars. He enjoyed watching all sports. He loved being with family and all of the family parties. Mr Gray enjoyed music and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Kevin (Susan) Gray of Seneca Castle, Lawrence Gray of Stanley, Kenneth (Lois) Gray of Cato, Thomas (Anita) Gray of Charlotte N.C., Theodore (Meredith) Gray of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Katherine Meyer of Geneva, Karen (Roy) Hardy of Phelps, Jeffrey Gray of Vestal, Laurie (Steven) Knapp of Macedon, James (Marie) Gray of Farmington, Jerald (Virginia) Gray of Henrietta, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Melvin, Paul, Rachel, Russell, James, Dorian and Madeline; many nieces, nephews and the Bird family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Bird Gray; and their son, Timothy Gray.
Mr. Gray's family would like to thank the staff at Clark Manor House and Clifton Springs Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provided to him.
