Paul Douglas Ricks, 41, of Sarasota, FL, died Thursday, July 3, 2008, at the Tidewell Hospice House in Sarasota of advanced liver disease. Born February 19, 1967, in Raceland, Louisiana, he was raised in Snyder and Hamburg and was a resident of Sarasota, for most of his adult life. He attended Hamburg High School and was a member of the class of 1985. A member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Snyder, he recently attended the South Trail Church of Christ in Sarasota. He served two years in the United States Army at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.



He is survived by a daughter, Britany Ricks of Charlestown, IN; his parents, Bonnie Tumlison, Fred Ricks and Harry Joe Tumlison, all of Crossett; a brother, Kyle Ricks; two sisters, Stacey White and Casey Land, all of Crossett; two grandchildren, Jade and Cameron Mullins of Charlestown, IN; two nieces, Tabitha Freeman and Tori Land; two nephews, Zach Land and Vance High; a great niece, Lexie Ruth Freeman, all of Crossett; and many aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, in the Fellowship Baptist Church with Revs. Charles Pullin and Gary Thomas officiating. A private burial will be in the Snyder Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Tidewell Hospice House, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34238. Visitation will be after the memorial service in the fellowship hall of the church.
