HOT SPRINGS – Clyde Franklin Parks, 87, of Hot Springs passed away March 12, 2013 at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville.

Mr. Parks was born February 12, 1926 in Cocke County, Tennessee. He honorably served in the US Army WWII and the US Air Force serving in the Korean War.

In 1967, Clyde retired and built their home in Hot Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Della McFeeture Parks of Cocke County, TN; and his wife, Mamie Jeanette Parks.

Surviving are his sons, Norman J. Parks of Coral Springs, FL, Terry A. Parks of Sheboygan, WI and Larry F. Parks of Weaverville; a daughter, Wanda J. Parks of Elberton, GA; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service with Military Honor Guard and the rights of a Master Mason will be held at 12 noon, Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
