Paul Wilkins, age 99, of Dalton, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Wilkins; daughter, Peggy Morrison.
He was the oldest member of Grove Level Baptist Church and was a World War II veteran assigned to the Aircraft Carrier, USS Princeton. He survived her sinking in the Philippine Sea in 1944. He was also an active member of the American Legion Post #112.

Mr. Wilkins is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Paula & Frank Driggers of Marietta; caregiver nephew, Bill Moore; caregiver niece, Rena Moore Lowe; two sisters-in-law, Louise Moore and Delene Hamrick; grandchildren, Katie Morrison, Emily Bowen, Spencer and Zen Driggers, Tyler and Natalie Driggers, Claire Driggers, Dan and Jenna Driggers; 9 great-grandchildren; nephews, Wray Wilkins and Kenneth Land; nieces, Beth Decker, Ella Brand and Della Sheets.

The funeral service to honor the life of Paul Wilkins will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Grove Level Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Bledsoe and Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating. Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be rendered by American Legion Post #112. A White Dove Release Ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Grove Level Baptist Church Children's Bible Drill. 2802 Cleveland Rd. Dalton, GA 30721
