George grew up in the Grimes community and attended school at Sunny Point and Sweetwater. He entered the United States Army in 1942 and served his country during World War II in North Africa and Italy. He was married to Clara Mae (Ewing) at Sayre, Oklahoma on June 4, 1943. After his discharge they lived in the Grimes community where they raised their family. George farmed, ranched and worked for the ASCS office. He later served 8 years as a County Commissioner for Roger Mills County District #1. George was an avid coyote hunter and loved hunting with his sons, grandchildren and friends.
He was a member of the Cheyenne Church of Christ before moving to Edmond and attending the Edmond Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 granddaughter, April, 7 brothers and 1 daughter-in-law, Linda.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Mae, of the home; 2 daughters, Joy Wallace and husband, Joe, Yukon, OK, Jeanette Wiederstein and husband Allen, Edmond, OK; 2 sons, Kendall Bryan and wife, Donita, Weatherford, OK, Norman Bryan and wife, Marilyn, Berlin, OK; 2 sisters, Annie Belle Atha and husband, C.W., Clinton, OK, Doris Faye Miller, Ft. Cobb, OK; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
