Adrian Alair Rowe, 97, died at Bright View at Baldwin Park on March 24, 2013. Born in Augusta County, Virginia, she lived in Staunton all of her life. She was born on June 15, 1915, to Jefferson H. and Otta Bowman Rowe. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Phyllis Winslow Rowe and Belva R. and her husband, John Dean Wright, two brothers, Bourbon B. Rowe, and his wife Frances Wells Rowe, and J. Hampton Rowe, and his wife, Margie M. H. Rowe, and a nephew, Ronald H. Rowe.
She is survived by one nephew, George W. and his wife Lynda G. Rowe, three nieces, Belva Anne Rowe, Marjorie R. "Sissy" Morris, and Deborah Dean Rowe and her husband, John Dillon, several great nieces and nephews, and devoted friends, Dr. and Mrs. Warren Reeves.
Adrian graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in the class of 1935. Following graduation she was employed by the former Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company, now Verizon, for 43 years. Adrian was a member of First Baptist Church in Staunton, Soroptimist International of Staunton, Telephone Pioneers of America, and the American Red Cross of the Blue Ridge.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon March 30, 2013 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Steve Traylor and Mr. Danny Pritchett. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
