Nathan Welby Fiske, educator, was born in Weston, Massachusetts April 17, 1798. He was the son of Rev. Dr. Nathan Fiske (Sept. 9, 1733-Nov. 24, 1799).
Nathan graduated at Dartmouth in 1817, was tutor there, (1818-1820), and graduated from Andover theological seminary in 1823. He was professor at Amherst from 1824 to 1847.
He published: Manuel of Classical Literature (1836), Sermons (1850), Young Peter's Tour Around the World and the Story of Aleck.
He died in Jerusalem, Palestine, May 27, 1847.
