Francis Harney Lombard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Gilbert Lombard, was born in Waverly, Illinois, January 6, 1862, and died in Kansas City, Mo., Thursday, October 22, 1936, at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 15 days. Death followed an illness of about eight weeks.
Mr. Lombard spent his boyhood days in Waverly and when about seventeen years of age became employed as a railway news agent, a vocation he followed until his last illness. During his long, active life Mr. Lombard travelled many thousands of miles, his headquarters at different times being a number of railroad centers of the middle western , southern and Rocky Mountain states.
Mr. Lombard was married February 20, 1902, to Miss Nell Lavine, of Salt Lake City, Utah, the ceremony taking place in that city.
Besides the widow, Mr. Lombard is survived by one brother, Joseph B. Lombard, and two sisters, Misses Margery and Caroline Lombard, all of this city.
the remains were brought to this city Saturday evening, and taken to the home of his sisters.
Funeral services were held at the home of the Misses Lombard Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, in charge of Rev. Matthew Kelly, pastor of the Congregational church.
Burial was in East cemetery.
