William Giles Chumney, 81, of Memphis, died June 25 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. He retired after 42 years at Ralston Purina in Memphis. Mr. Chumney was a member of Colonial Park United Methodist Church. Visitation will be on Monday from 48 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel and funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. with burial immediately following in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Chumney was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Frances Willis Chumney. He is survived by his daughter Donna Liles of Bartlett; his son Danny Chumney of Bartlett; two sisters Doris Key and Wilma Vanlandingham both of Memphis; one grandson Jim Liles of Bartlett.
