Jacob Dewey Hull, son of Albert C. And Susan Hull was born July 3, 1869, near Granville, Iowa and passed away in Lynnville at his home on February 18, 1962 at the age of 92 years, 7 months, 10 days.

He attended the country school in Granville and grew to manhood in that community.

On January 8, 1892 he was united in marriage to Marjorie May Lunt near Derby, Vermont. They settled on a farm near Taintor, iowa where they lived until retiring to his home in Lynnville. To this union nine children were born. Preceding him in death were his wife Marjorie on August 28, 1951: three children, Harold on October 31, 1956, Carl in August of 1950 and a daughter Greetu in infancy and five brothers.

Mr. Hull was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and attended regularly as long as he was able.

Mr. Hull passed away when fire of unknown origin had broken out in his home. His death from a heart attack, was assumed to have been indirectly caused by the fire. He was badly burned. Those at the scene were able to get him out before the house was completely enveloped in flames.

He leaves to mourn his passing his children, Mrs. Susa Northcutt of Lynnville, Mrs. Freda Taylor and Arthold Hull of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Velva McDowell and Landon Hull of Rock Island, Ill. Mrs. Lola Meredith of Searsboro, daughter in law Mrs. Marie Hull of Grinnell.

There were 18 Grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren: several nephews and nieces and a host of friends and relatives.

Mr. Hull was a very congenial man. He loved company and to visit. His door was always open to his neighbors and friends as well as his relatives and family.

Funeral rites were conducted from the Methodist church in New Sharon Tuesday afternoon February 20th. With Rev. J.W. Garbison of Lynnville Friends Church and Rev. Charles Rinkel of New Sharon in charge.

Selection of music, In the Garden and Going Down The Valley was provided by Homer McDowell, Warren Stanley, Jacob Brand, accompanied by Miss Nancy Stanley.

Casket bearers were Glen Hull, Roger McDowell, Donald Hull, Lowell Northcutt, Junior Northcutt and Vernon Northcutt.

Mrs. Homer McDowell, Mrs. Milo DeJong, Mrs. Roger McDowell, Mrs. Donald Hull, and Mrs. John Howell were flower attendants.

Interment was in the Friend Cemetery.
