Helen Chapman Bohannon, 95, eldest child of Lee Jackson and Edna Pauline Lee Chapman, was born Dec. 14, 1909, near Pisgah, Iowa. She died March 18, 2005.
She married Owen Bohannon March 3, 1933, at Maryville. They moved to the Rose Hill community in Johnson County in 1934. They had lived on the same farm since 1939.
Mrs. Bohannon became a member of the Rose Hill Baptist Church in 1934. She taught Sunday School for 45 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband May 26, 1990; three brothers and six sisters.
Surviving are her children, Paul Bohannon of Holden, Marylee Lowery of Houston and JoAn Larson of Elsmore, Kan.; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Services were March 22 at the Ben Cast and Son Wood Funeral Home with burial in the Holden Cemetery.
