Dickinson. Rev. L. C. Dickinson died at his home at St. Johnsbury Centre,
Dec. 3. after an illness of six days of pneumonia, at the. age of 65
Mr. Dickinson was born at Weathersfield, joined the Vt. conference of Methodist
churches in 1848, and served during his ministry fifteen churches.
For four successive years he was presiding elder of the Springfield district,
During the war he was for three years chaplain in the Union army. He
removed to St. Johnsbury Centre some seven years ago and has since been in
rather frail health and without a charge. He was in every, way a noble man.
His work, his words and his influence will live. He found a large place in the hearts
of the people wherever he dwelt. He left a widow and three children. The funeral was
largely attended at the Methodist church at the Centre Tuesday, with sermon by
Rev P. N. Granger. Revs. Grover, Frost, Trevilian, Worthen and Hatch, took parts in the
service and four brother ministers bore the casket to the cemetery.
