Funeral services for Virgil Ray Cox, age 64 of Buna, Texas will be 11am Friday, March 29, 2013 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas.


Burial to follow at Weeks Chapel Cemetery.


Virgil died March 26, 2013 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, Texas.


He was a 1966 graduate from Jasper High School. He married the love of his life, Judy in 1966. He then worked on the construction of Toledo Bend Dam, attended welding school in Houston and then began working at the paper mill in Evadale where he retired as a team leader after 42 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and operating Cox's South East Texas Wildlife Feeders.


Survivors include his wife of 46 years Judy Cox, two sons, Clifford "Bill" Cox and Michael Cox, all of Buna, Texas, step mother Lucille Cox of Brookeland, Texas, his sister Melissa Motes of Leesville, Louisiana, four grandchildren Justin, Steven, Tanner and Brody Cox and great grandchild Esmee Cox.


He was predeceased by his father and mother Clifford Cox and Billie Young and his brother Lewis Cox.


Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper, Texas ~
