Amanda Greenwell mysteriously vanished one day from her residence in Douglasville, Georgia. Friends and family members searched for her, but were unsuccessful in their attempts to locate her. One month later, Amanda's lifeless body would be located a few miles from her home. She had been beaten, raped, and her neck was broken. Amanda was only 16 years old.

Months later, a suspected serial killer, Jeremy Brian Jones would be charged with her murder. At the time of Amanda's disappearance, Jones was living in the same trailer park that Amanda's family lived. Jeremy Jones was a wanted man out of Oklahoma on prior rape charges. He was living in Georgia with another alias, John Paul Chapman. Apparently Amanda, only 16, fit the description that Jones has been known to be attracted to. Jones' aftermath stretches through four, possibly more states.
There is a pending trial for the disappearance, rape and murder of Amanda Greenwell.

A judge sentenced Jeremy Bryan Jones to death in Mobile, Alabama, on November 29, 2005, for the murder of Lisa Marine Nichols.
