Services will be at 11 a.m. EST Satureday at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road Chapel. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. EST until the service Saturday at the funeral home.

The son of Henry Lee and Lola Prescott, Jimmy was born in DeFuniak Springs on Oct. 19, 1934. Jimmy spent most of his youth in DeFuniak Springs and moved to Tallahassee as an adult, where he raised his family.
Jimmy, a 1960 graduate of Florida State University, founded and owned several successful businesses in Tallahassee, including Prescott Plumbing Co., Prescott Supply Co. and Prescott's Ace Hardware Stores.
Jimmy served Walton County and Florida as a member of the House of Representatives from 1962 to 1964. He served his state and country as a member of the Florida National Guard.
An avid outdoorsman, Jimmy loved the ocean and spent many years enjoying the Panhandle's coast and the island of Bimini with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Barbara Ward Prescott; his parents; a brother, Charles M. Prescott; and a sister, Margaret Ann Ferguson.
