Obituary Bismarck Tribune (Jul 07, 1999)
BEULAH -- Helen M. Morman, 88, Beulah, died July 7, 1999, in the Beulah nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, with the Rev. Kris Nyman officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Beulah.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be all special friends of Helen and Ed's.

Serving as active bearers will be Daniel Morman, James Ehlers, Ryan Morman, Neil Ehlers, Robert Ehlers and Mark Ehlers.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah.

Helen was born Oct. 9, 1910, at Douglas, a daughter of John and Olina (Ostrum) Ehlers. After a childhood on the farm, Helen attended Minot Norman College, where she received her teaching certificate. Education was very important and something that Helen promoted in the lives of her family. While teaching in the Glen Ullin area, she met Edward Morman and they were married in Bismarck on Aug. 17, 1935. In 1968 Helen was a finalist for North Dakota Mother of the Year. Helen was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, and she participated in the Lutheran Missions Circle and other various projects. Helen had a great passion for reading and was involved when the Women's Circle of Beulah established the Beulah Library. Besides reading, Helen enjoyed cooking and sewing.

She is survived by her husband, Ed, Beulah; three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Dorothy Morman, Owatonna, Minn., David and Yvonne Morman, Franklin, Minn., and Dale and Joylnn Morman, Anchorage, Alaska; one daughter and son-in-law, Daphne and Ron Sturtz, Roseburg, Ore.; seven grandchildren; one sister, Violet Tonsfeldt, Barrett, Minn.; three brothers, Nevin "Pete" Ehlers, Elbow Lake, Minn., Arnold Ehlers, Elbow Lake, Minn., and John Ehlers, Morris, Minn.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Jack, Louis and Marvin.
