Anita served as head nurse of the emergency room and served in the United States and Germany. Anita retired from the U.S. Army as a captain at Fort McClellan in Anniston. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Marland Henry; brother, Steven Henry; and infant sister, Kathy Dale Henry. She is survived by her son, Jonathan Haze McCarthy; mother, Edna McGukin Henry; sister and brother-in-law, Holly and David Lawson; nephew, Nathan Lawson; and niece, Angeline Lawson.
