Oleta Wise Cross

Oleta Wise Cross, 96, of Greenville died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville.
Funeral services were today at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home in Greenville.
Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral time.
She was a native of Sunflower County where she attended the public schools and moved to Washington County in the 1930s where she was the assistant postmistress in Tribbett for several years. She married Lee Washington Smith and they made their home in Greenville in 1947, where they owned and operated Smith Grocery Store.
He preceded her in death in 1969. She married Linton Cross in 1974, who preceded her in death in 1999.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Selma Ruth Pedigo of Clearwater, Fla.; two sons, Arthur Pogue of Benoit and Richard Pogue of Rufus, Ore.; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren
