Mrs. Ellen Condie Burt, 83, an early Salt Lake resident and the widow of the late Peter O. Burt, died of complications to her age Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Burt Shipley, 316 Dowington avenue.
Mrs. Burt was born April 27, 1848, in St. Louis Mo., a daughter of Gibson and Ceila Sharp Condie. She came to Salt Lake with her parents in 1849, living here since that time.
Mr. and Mrs. Burt for many years were proprietors of a grocery store at 530 South Fourth West street.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Nelie Burt Brown and Mrs. Shipley of Salt Lake; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three brothers and a sisters, Peter S. and Thomas S. Condie, Salt Lake; Gibson S. Condie, Springville, and Mrs. Elizabeth O. Cowan, Nephi.
