Marvin Henry White-clergyman -educator. He holds the A. B. degree from Howard Payne College in Brownwood, Texas and the Th.M. degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He also studied at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. His first marriage was on October 27, 1935 to Loura Elizabeth Barnette of El Paso, Texas. She is now deceased. The Rev. White was ordained a Baptist Minister on September 13, 1936 and held the Pastorate of several small Baptist Churches in Texas prior to coming to Pensacola, Florida as Pastor of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. He was Pastor from November of 1941 until September 1945 when he became a math teacher at Pensacola High School. He taught there until 1958; transferred to Escambia High School where he taught from 1958 until he retired in 1976. He served as Chairman of the Mathematics Department for 3 years.

He holds membership in the National Education Association, Florida Education Association, Escambia Education Association, Classroom Teachers Organization, National Council of Mathematics Teachers, Florida Council of Teachers of Math-
ematics , Escambia Mathematics Teachers Association. With the latter organization he has held office as Secretary-Treasurer, Vice President and President.

Rev. White has served as Sunday School Teacher and is a member of the Myrtle Grove United Methodist Church and was licensed as a Local Preacher of The Methodist Church on September 13, 1964.

Marvin wrote poetry and always has a beautiful vegetable garden.
