Daughter of John T. Veatch and Lucy Chapman Veatch.

Husband was a preacher and writer of the hymn "He Keeps Me Singing."

While preaching in a revival at Middlesboro, KY, he left his wife and three small sons with her parents in Harrodsburg, KY. As the revival was ending, March 26, 1911, he received a call that his wife, Sarah, and all three sons had lost their lives in a fire.

The children were age 6, 5, and seven months.
