Mr. Clarence Winfield Adams, 88, passed away at 1:40 p.m., Thursday, November 14, 1968 at his home near Waverly.
Mr. Adams was born at Little York, near Waverly, Illinois on August 17, 1880, the son of James W. and Nellie Richardson Adams.
Mr. Adams, a retired farmer, has spent his entire life here, and until the past few months has been active.
He was married to Lela Mae Joy of Loami on November 27, 1909. They would have been married 59 years on November 17th.
He is survived by is wife,Lela, two daughters, Mrs. Lowell (Dorothy) Schramm, Palmyra, Mrs. Burdett (Margaret) Manning, Springfield, one son, Joy L. Adams, Jacksonville, one sister, Mrs. Herman A. Brown of Waverly, two grandsons, Dale Schramm of Modesto, and Marvin Dale Manning of Mt. Prospect, and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Adams was a member of the First Methodist Church of Waverly.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 17th, at the Neece Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenneth Conant of the First Methodist Church officiating.
