Ida was just 16 years old when she married William Albert Chappell on December 26, 1909 at Talladega County, AL. She died a few months later. A death record has not been found on her. She was the daughter of William Wilson Callaway and Georgia Anne Baker. Her mother died when Ida was 7 years old. Her father married again to Linda Elizabeth "Lizzie" Gailhouse. Lizzie had two children and also died.

Note: William & Ida's marriage: LDS Church microfilm: Talladega County, AL Marriages, 1909, Vol. L, #1639302. William Albert Chappell next married: Exa Elma Norred on Sept. 17, 1911 at Clay County, AL. See LDS Church microfilm: Clay County, AL Marriages, FHL # 1853688, page 105.

See 1900 Census, Ida May Calloway,(age 7) Talladega County, AL. She is listed in house of Wm Calloway who is married to Lizzie. The family spelled it: Callaway. Also, see William Chappell on 1910 Census, Shelby County, AL after Ida's death. He is living in house of his cousin, Martin E. Williamson (son of Annie Chappell Williamson, sister to William's father, Isaac Green Chappell), listed as widowed. The Census was taken on April 19, 1910, so Ida had died by then. They were only married about 3 months when she died. William's parents, Isaac and Emma Chappell lived next door to or the next farm to William's cousin, Martin E. Williamson in Shelby County.
