Mr. Norwood died March 7, 1993 in an automobile accident due to a drunk driver. He was a native of Limestone County, a member of East Highland Baptist Church, and owner/operator of Norwood's Body Shop. He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Norwood,Jr.
His survivor's are his wife, Sharon Diane Norwood of Athens, two sons, Sean Norwood of Parris Islands, S.C., and Heath Norwood of Athens, one daughter, Tara Norwood of Athens, his mother, Rena P. Norwood of Athens, and a sister, Janice Brown of Athens. Pallbearers will be David Powers, Richard Sullivan, Shorty McMahan, Phillip Jones, Ray Powers, and Charlie Brown.
