Derrald Keith Carter, 85 years old, passed away on March 26, 2013 in Morgan, UT.

Keith was born in Morgan, Utah on Oct. 2, 1927 to Hyrum Ray Carter and Twila Harding Carter.

Keith served in the US Army from December 1945 to June 1946.

He Married Carol Elaine Durrant on March 8, 1950. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on August 21, 1959.

Keith was raised in Point of Rocks, Wyoming. He graduated from Superior High School in Superior Wyoming. He attended Weber State College in Ogden, Utah from 1949 to 1951.

Keith was a member of the Morgan 12th ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the time of his passing. During his lifetime he served as a Ward Clerk, was active in the Scouting Program and worked at the Church History Center in Morgan which was an important part of his senior years.

Keith was preceded in death by his dear eternal companion Carol. Oh how joyous that reunion must have been. Keith is survived by six sons and three daughters. Richard (Vickie) Carter, Kimberly, Idaho; Ray (Malinda) Carter, Morgan, Utah; Scott Carter, Sunset, Utah; Carolyn (Jim) Buckheit, Houston, Texas; Don (Jan) Carter, West Weber, Utah; Neil (Nancy) Carter, Roy, Utah; Lance (Sally) Carter, Clinton, Utah; Ann Carter, North Ogden, Utah and Marie Carter, North Ogden, Utah, 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A special thanks to Family Tree of Morgan and their dedicated staff and to Shellece and Sonia from CNS Hospice for their kindness, concern, and service to our father.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 11 am in the Rock Church, 10 W. Young Street, Morgan, Utah. A viewing will be held at the Rock Church on Thursday, March 28 from 6 to 8 pm and Friday prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30 am.

Interment will be held in the South Morgan Cemetery.
