The son of Daniel T. Hookey and Clara E. Felter, he was born January 10, 1924 in Washingtonville.
He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Elder of Little Britain Presbyterian Church, Little Britain Men's Council, member of Little Britain Grange #913, a World War II Army veteran.
He was the widower of Barbara Hookey.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Hookey and wife Alexandra of Highland Mills, Robert Hookey and wife Joann Butler of Loris, S.C.; two daughters, Donna and husband Karl Zeidler of Phoenix, Ariz., Cindy and husband Scott Allen of Lansing, Mich.; three sisters, Alice Moffatt of Hollywood, Fla., Clara and husband Ken Johnson of Blooming Grove, Norma Andrews of Newton, Conn.; seven grandchildren, Kelly Plummer, Jill Grupe, Rebecca Mabry, Alison Plummer, Caroline Hookey, Jennifer Damaschke, Beth Butler; six great-grandchildren, Brandon Plummer, Michael Damaschke, Nicholas Damaschke, Samantha Damaschke, Mia Magliano, Nicholas, Isiah Magliano; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by son, William Hookey; brother Charles Hookey; sister, Anna M. Hookey; and granddaughter, Jessica Zeidler.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9 at the Little Britain Presbyterian Church, Route 207, New Windsor.
Burial will be in Washingtonville Cemetery in Washingtonville.
