Mr Gillespie had been in failing health for the past 2 years. The illness that claimed his life made him bed fast just 3 weeks ago.
Mr Gillespie was married to Miss Clara Haley of Bracken County Feb 6, 1900,and slipped away just one day after their 54th wedding anniversary. Mr & Mrs Gillespie were the parents of 5 children.
One daughter, Mrs Francis Bishop departed this life 13 years ago.
The other children who survive their father are Oral, Theodore and Mrs Gertrude Yelton, all of Falmouth, and Earl of Newport. In Addition to his wife and four children Mr. Gillespie leaves 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Two of these grandchildren Kenneth & Theodore Jr. are overseas in service & were unable to attend the service.
Mr Gillespie had lived the greater part of his life in Pendleton County.
Services were conducted from the Falmouth Baptist church on Wednesday afternoon by Rev. Carl Sears, pastor of the church. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth
