KIRBY, DANIEL "POP," 67, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Baptist Hospital East.
He was a vice president of PNC Bank, a decorated US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jo Decker; and sister, Sharon Thomas.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, the former Carolyn J. Abrams; sons, Tim Kirby (Kelly) and Jeff Kirby (Krista); grandchildren, Aubree, Michael and Jacob, sibling, Bonnie Beard, Steve Decker and Linda Decker; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the ER and the CCU Departments at Baptist East for their outstanding care, compassion and efforts.
Funeral services will be noon Thursday at Ratterman's Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road in St. Matthews with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. on Thursday at Ratterman's.
