Miami, Okla. - Jacob Harold Perry, 31, carpenter and mechanic, died Saturday in Fort Scott, Kan. Graveside service 2 p.m. Wednesday, Council House Cemetery, Grove. Paul Thomas. (Tulsa World)
----------------------
Jacob Harold Perry of Miami, Oklahoma died Saturday, March 23, 2013 from injuries sustained in a car accident in Fort Scott, Kansas. He was 31.

Jake, as everyone knew him, was the son of Michael Joe Perry, Sr. and Betty Mae (Yazzie) Perry. He was born on June 10, 1981. Both parents preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Fred and Betty Yazzie and his paternal grandparents, Bill and Joyce (WhiteCrow) Perry.

Jake was born in Downey, California. He graduated from Commerce High School in 1999. He played football, did weightlifting and was a member of the National Honor Society. He was a member of the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe, Chickasaw and Navajo Nations. He was a carpenter and mechanic, like his father and grandfather before him.

Jake had a heart and smile as big as he was. He deeply loved his family and friends and most of all his wife Sequoyah. Jake was strong in spirit and never failed to take care of those around him or lend a helping hand. Although his family is greatly saddened by his loss, they take comfort in knowing he is with the Creator and surrounded by those he loved that have gone on before him.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm at the Council House Cemetery on Wednesday, March 27. 2013. Mr. Randy White and Mr. Paul Barton will conduct Indian Rites.

Pallbearers will be his cousins and long time friend Timmy Lou Lewis.

The body will lay in repose at his home: 1801 D Street NW, Miami, OK. All friends and family are welcome. The services are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home.
