Ouray CO-A memorial service for Vicki Sue Hudson, 47, was held be Saturday (1-13-01) in the First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements were by Crippian Funeral Home, Montrose, CO. She was born February 26, 1953 in Seminole to Hugh Allan and LaJoyce Sue McBride and died Friday, January 5, 2001 in Montrose. She graduated from Enid High School in 1971 then attended Oklahoma State University. She later lived in Vallejo, California, Elko, Nevada and El Paso, Texas before moving to Ouray in March 1990. She married Louis Hudson June 13, 1975 in Carson City, Nevada. She was Ouray County 4-H Cooking Coach.
Surviving are her husband, Louis of the home, her parents Allan and Sue McBride of Enid; one sister Cynthia Bowden of Hennessey and 3 stepsons, Gary Hudson of Smith River, California; Steven Hudson of Ft. Vicki Sue Hudson, a resident of Ridgway since 1990,died Friday evening, Jan. 5, 2001, in the Valley Manor Care Center at Montrose at the age of 47.

Vicki Sue McBride was born in Seminole, Okla., on Feb. 26, 1953,the daughter of Hugh A. and LaJoyee Sue (Harber) McBride. She spent her childhood years, graduated from high school, and grew to adulthood in Oklahoma.

She was joined in marriage with Louis Hudson on June 13, 1975,in Carson City, Nev. Vicki and Louis had the joy of sharing 25years together before Vicki's death.

After leaving Oklahoma at the age of 22, she spent some time in El Paso, Texas, before moving to Ridgway in March of 1990, where she and Louis had since made their home.

Vicki, a homemaker, enjoyed being the Ouray County 4-H Cooking Coach, along with selling her apples, cider, and tomatoes to folks going through Ouray County. She also enjoyed making apple butter. Vicki loved her animals and her friends in the community.

Survivors who had the honor of sharing Vicki's life include her husband, Louis Hudson, of the family home in Ridgway; her parents, Hugh and LaJoyee Sue McBride, of Enid, Okla.; one sister, Cynthia Bowden, of Hennessey, Okla.; one brother, James McBride, of Enid, Okla.; and three stepsons: Gary Hudson, of Smith River, Calif.; Steve Hudson, of Fort Worth, Texas; and Linzy Hudson, of Valley Springs, Calif.

Other family survivors include four sisters-in-law: Alice McClurg, of Modesto, Calif.; Ruth Crabtree, of Fresno, Calif.; Jean Sheldon, of Porterville, Calif.; Joyce and husband Bob Kurz, of Santa Rosa, Calif.; one brother-in-law, Welch Hudson and wife Ann, of Fresno, Calif.; a special uncle, Jim Harber, of Tulsa, Okla.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in Oklahoma.

Vicki was preceded in death by her grandparents.
