We have found a few records, census, christening of children and a marriage record for Lord & Martha on 24 Dec 1883 in Guthrie County, Iowa. We still have not found what caused their deaths. They died the same year so we wonder if it was an illness of some kind. I have a family record that was what my grandfather, Howard Everett Moon, remembered. I am putting it just as he stated it here:

The parents of Walter, Howard, Loren and Ethel Moon left Guthrie County, Iowa and settled in Kansas City where they both passed away together by causes unknown. Ethel being the baby was taken by some aunts, names unknown, and raised. Walter E, Howard and Loren were put in a childrens home in Kansas City. Walter and Howard were released. Loren remained there for a short period when he was taken out by the Cockrum family who ranched in southwest Kansas. Walter was about 12 to 15 years old. Walter and Howard shifted for themselves, occasionally keeping track of the where abouts of Loren. Howard eventually became a chef in restaurants and traveled extensively. He married Etta and settled some place in Oregon, where they were last known. He died there. There were no children.
