This is what our researchers have determined:

1820 Census Wayne Township Darke County lists the following as neighbors on the same census page:

William McGriff and Elizabeth Hole married 6 May 1812 Preble County Ohio.

Zachariah Hole - father of Elizabeth Hole McGriff buried at Black Swamp.

James Hole- son of Zachariah buried at Black Swamp.

All of the above lived in Kentucky, moved to Ohio, ending up in Preble County, the county to the south of Darke before all moving to Darke County Ohio.

Another son, another page, William Hole and wife deeded land for graveyard in 1827 now Black Swamp./Greenlawn.. There had already been several burials there the first known in 1821.

By 1830 William and Elizabeth Hole McGriff had returned to Preble county Ohio to Live. They are both buried at Mound cemetery Preble County Ohio
