Born in Bountiful, Utah, a son of Edmund and Lucy Garrett Barlow, Haven grew up in Bountiful and attended Davis High School. Working in Santa Monica, California until his LDS mission to Australia, he married Velma Elizabeth Kunzler on May 17, 1938, have been loving companions for almost 57. Haven owned and operated Mayfair Market and Family Furniture in Layton for many year. For twenty years, he served as president of the Layton LDS Stake and then as the Layton LDS Stake Patriarch for thirty. He was also a sealer in the Ogden LDS Temple. Preceding him in death were daughters Velma (Tom) Riley and Marilyn Barlow, two brothers and six sisters.
