Butler, age 68, of Marianna passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013 in the Jackson Hospital. She was born in Chipley, FL to the late Richard Carl and Lucille Deese Yon. Carla grew up in Cottondale, Florida and graduated from Cottondale High School in 1962. She maintained a close relationship with her class mates and friends for more than fifty years. In 1980 she moved to Marianna where she would retire from the Jackson County Court House as a recording clerk. Mrs. Butler was an active member of Eastside Baptist Church, her Sunday school class and the Eastern Star. Carla enjoyed reading books and was a big sports fan. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband James David Butler. Carla is survived by her son Rhett Butler of Kingsville, TX, one brother Richard Yon of Millbrook, Al, nieces and nephew Tanya O'Neal of Perry, FL, Crystal Smith of Wetumpka, AL, Nolan Yon of Opelika, AL and Michelle Marley of Marianna, FL. Services for Mrs. Butler will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Eastside Baptist Church with Pastor John Rollyson officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. A time of remembrance will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013 in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Serving as her pallbearers will be members of the Cooper Class from Eastside Baptist Church.
