CLARENCE E. BECK
Clarence E. Beck, 94, a teacher and former prinicpal of Bryant schools, and a former superintendent of schools in Berne, Thorntown and Columbia City, died Wednesday in his home in Van Buren. He retired in 1956.
A native of Carroll County, he taught and was a former prinicipal at Linn Grove school, and schools at Oolitic, Wheatfield, Bryant and at Central School in Madison County.
Survivors include four daughters, a sister, a brother, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Van Buren United Methodist Church, with Rev. Wayne Markward presiding. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory in Huntington County.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today in the Fergeson Funeral Home in Van Buren and at the church Saturday one hour prior to services.
