MARION — Erma L. Arnold, 83, died at 5:12 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2004, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Erma was born Aug. 6, 1920, to Fitz and Eva (Sweet) Odom in Williamson County. She married Clifford E. Arnold on March 23, 1940, in Jackson, Mo., and he preceded her in death on April 21, 1997. Erma was a homemaker and attended Coal Bank Springs Baptist Church. She was a member of the Pittsburg Rebekah Lodge 802 and the Order of the Eastern Star Le Roy A. Chapter 350. Survivors include her two sons, Darryl and Bonnie Arnold of Marion; her grandchildren, Don Steven and Joyce Arnold of Moro, Don Steven and Joyce Arnold of Moro; her grandchildren, Shannabeth and Michael Stein of Goreville, Trina and Steve Shaw of Pittsburg, Clayton Arnold and fiancée Kendra Spivey, Olivia and Larry McGray of Deacatur, JoAllen Brozowski of Marion, and Shawn and Sharina Finegan of Evansville, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Bailey Shaw, Jonah Shaw, Larry McGray III, Amy Jo Brozowski, Zachery Finegan, and Kayleigh Finegan; brothers, Stanley D. and Jackie Odom of Florrisant, Gary W. and Christine Odom of Galatia; sisters, Virginia D. and husband Dennis Gooch of Marion; a host of nieces and nephews; and other special people, Minnie Jo and Ronnie Tanner of New Burnside; Butch and Shirley Butler of Crab Orchard. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Linda Heltsley, brother Ted Odom and sister-in-law Mary Ruth Odom. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2004, at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeff Odom officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m.today at the funeral home.
