Virgil "Bud" Hymen Wilkes, 53, of Redford, Mich, formerly of Franklin, died Friday, Nov. 24.

He was a son of the late Ellis Roy Wilkes and Ader Dell Wilkes. He was a plumber and a member of Newman's Chapel Baptist Church.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Ellis Wilkes, who died in 1984.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 13 years, Lynn Meirs Wilkes; one step-daughter, Jamie Grochowski of Oklahoma; four sister, Franklie Ritchie, Shirley Gragg, Nancy Wilkes and Willie Kay Seagle, all of Otto; one grandson and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 30, at Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Alton Dendy will officate. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Macon Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6100 Executive Blvd, Suite 1010, Rockville, Md. 20852.
